Position Summary

Join our team as a Community-Based Behavioral Health Specialist and provide meaningful, in-home support to youth and families in their communities.

This role provides intensive, community-based behavioral health services focused on stabilization, skill development, crisis prevention, and strengthening family functioning. You will work directly with children and caregivers to build skills, support treatment goals, and help families navigate challenging situations.
Compensation: $45,000–$50,000 annually, plus a $5,000 vehicle maintenance allowance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-home behavioral and emotional support services to children and families.
- Help families implement individualized treatment plans and develop strategies to support positive outcomes.
- Provide crisis prevention, intervention, and stabilization support when needed.
- Teach and reinforce coping skills, communication techniques, and behavioral management strategies.
- Collaborate with clinical teams, schools, and community providers to coordinate care and support client needs.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families facing behavioral health challenges.
- Experience supporting high-risk youth and families in community-based settings preferred.
- Strong crisis management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with children, caregivers, and community partners.
- Applicant must live in McHenry County
